Krista’s career at HP started as an intern at the Greeley site while she was still an electrical engineering student at New Mexico State University.  She started working as a Product Regulations Engineer after graduation in Boise, Idaho.  During her time in the Product Regulations group she was sponsored by HP to continue her education at Northwest Nazarene University and completed her MBA.  Krista is currently the Manager of the Product Regulations and Material Science Lab teams of the Hardware Test Lab at HP.  She and her team ensure the safety and legal compliance for HP’s LaserJet and Scanner products worldwide.  The Material Science team investigates materials issues that affect the design and repair of several HP product lines including laser printers, scanners tape drives, PCAs, etc.   Previous to her management position, Krista worked as a Product Completion Engineer in the Operations organization where she worked on the manufacturability of LaserJet products with the various global manufacturing teams.

While employed at HP, Krista has focused most of her volunteering with youth via the International Telementor Program (ITP) and at Taft Elementary School in Boise.  For the past 9 years Krista has been an online mentor with the ITP helping students throughout the United States explore different career options. She has been featured in several of the ITP newsletters to share her tips and experiences with other mentors.  In Boise she has been a mentor at Taft Elementary serving as a positive and dependable role model for at-risk children since 2005.  Most recently Krista served as the chair of HP’s Employee Giving Campaign which contributed more than $350k in employee cash donations to various organizations primarily in Idaho and more than 1,000 employee volunteer hours at non-profit agencies in Boise.

Outside of working and volunteering, Krista enjoys traveling, cooking and exercising.  Lately she has been trying to start running again, attends aerobics classes and practices yoga.  She especially enjoys returning to her home state of New Mexico to visit her family when the opportunity presents itself.
